Pepper's

Calzone Rating: 7.5/10 A laid-back pizza joint on the bustling Franklin St outside UNC @ Chapel Hill. Calzone was quite different to that in Sydney - it had sausage instead of ham/pepperoni, and had ricotta cheese instead of normal cheese. Plus you get dipping sauce with it - yumm. The thing I liked most about it was the ricotta cheese :)

Wood Fired Pizza @ GPO

Calzone rating: 7.5/10 A good casual dining place in the city if you are up for pizza/calzone. Very convenient as its right in the middle of the city - at No 1, Martin Place.

Calzone was good - the dough is very light, so its not as filling as some other calzones I've had. The inside is ham based, and has a nice olive taste.

Caminetto Italian Restaurant

Calzone rating: 8/10

Located in a cozy terrace house in 13-17 Playfair Street, The Rocks, the site is listed as having State heritage significance. Whether you are sitting outside under sun for lunch, or inside on a Saturday night enjoying the live music, the atmosphere is great. You feel like you are somwhere in Italy. You gotta love this place!

The calzone is yum, especially with the sangria. I think the atmosphere of this place gives it the edge.

Napoli in Bocca

Calzone rating: 9.5/10
A pizzeria in Sydney's 'little Italy' - located at 73 Dalhousie St, Haberfield. Make a booking, or be prepared to wait - on a Friday night, we had to wait over an hour to get a table! And dont be scared off by the brash waiters - its part of the package.

The best calzone in Sydney to date!!! The calzone is AMAZING - its got just the right amount of everything. Its got salami instead of ham - so a bonus. Also, the dough has a garlic flavour, so that it actually tastes like garlic bread. A MUST TRY!!

A great way to finish off your calzone from Napoli in Bocca is to go across the road to Dolcissimo, and get their gelato - I would recommend the 'Baci' flavour. Yummm.

Il Tratto Ra Ro

Calzone rating: 7/10

A cozy pizzeria at 108 Majors Bay Road, Concord...

The calzone was tasty, and serving was huge :) Only drawback was it had a bit too much cheese, and they used ham instead of pepperoni. I'm no Italian, but I love that pepperoni taste! And a plus for vegetarians - the menu has a vegetarian calzone as well!
